Winter event marketing grants up for grabs

Nic Street, Minister for Stadia and Events

Upcoming winter events have the chance to share in $100,000 in funding for the Event Marketing Tasmania – Winter 2024 Edition Grant Program as part of the Rockliff Liberal Government’s plan to boost the winter season.

The funds will assist event organisers to increase their event marketing, specifically for interstate marketing activities that target visitors from outside Tasmania.

Minister for Stadia and Events, Nic Street, said the Rockliff Liberal Government will continue to strongly support winter events across the State.

“Funding is available to the organisers of events held in Tasmania from April to September 2024 with grants of between $5,000 and $10,000 available,” Minister Street said.

“Winter events are key to our State’s tourism and hospitality sector, and marketing is critical to the success of any event – especially when organisers are looking to attract interstate and international visitors.

“While we already have major events like the Festival of Voices, Beaker Street and the Winter Feast set to bring in big crowds, this fund will specifically provide funding for smaller events to help grow awareness and attract more interstate attendees.

“By supporting events across winter, we know we can help bring the colder months alive not just for visitors, but for locals and local businesses, and we may even be sowing the seeds for the next big Tasmanian winter event,” he said.

The grant guidelines are now available for viewing, with the grant program opening on Tuesday 13 February at 2:00 pm and due to close on Wednesday, 1 May 2024 at 2:00 pm or until the available funding has been fully allocated – whichever occurs first.
