Winter Tinned Food Drive 21 July

As our winter tinned food drive comes to a close at the end of July, we are asking for the communities support to donate tinned food for people in need. Council will pass these donations onto food relief agencies in Knox.

Thank you to members of the community who have already dropped off donations. To date we have received more than 600 tinned food donations which will make a big difference. These initial donations have been delivered to Outer East Foodshare who will distribute them onto food relief agencies in Knox.

Food relief providers in Knox, are noticing that what was once a stop-gap measure ’emergency’ food relief is now a way of life for many residents.

You can help by donating tins of food by Friday 31 July.

We are asking for donations of tinned:

– Soup

– Tuna

– Fruit

– Tomatoes

– Tomato paste

– Spaghetti and

– Mixed veggies.

Every tinned food donation will help Knox residents access nutritious food.

Council is committed to supporting emergency food relief providers in Knox. Our initiatives include financial support through our grant streams including, Councils Emergency Relief Fund, and leasing facilities at a reduced rate, and ongoing support through the Knox Emergency Relief Network and Food Relief Taskforce.
