Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Coolum Beach earlier this month.
It will be alleged around 12am on 5 June, a 38-year-old woman was assaulted by a man known to her and sustained serious facial injuries.
A 36-year-old man was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm (domestic violence offence) and contravention of a domestic violence order.
He was remanded in custody to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 17 June.
Investigations are ongoing, anyone who witnessed or heard anything in the area at the time or may have relevant information is urged to contact police.
