Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Mitcham on 7 December.
Investigators have been told a man used a piece of wood to attempt to enter the factory on Maroondah Highway about 11.25pm
The offender is perceived to be Caucasian with a medium build and short hair.
The man has a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm, a tattoo on right side of his neck and tattoos on his right arm and hand.
Police have released images of a man they believe can assist them with their enquiries.
