A woman has been charged for disrupting traffic south of the Sydney CBD.
About 10.30am today (Friday 19 June 2026), officers from South Sydney Police Area Command responded to reports of protesters obstructing a traffic at the intersection of John and Cope Streets, Waterloo.
It will be alleged police issued a direction to leave the roadway which was complied with by all present except a 28-year-old woman who had locked herself to the passenger side of the truck.
With the assistance of the Police Rescue Squad the woman was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.
She was then taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with Refuse/fail to comply with direction under Part 14, pedestrian obstruct driver’s/other pedestrian’s path and Hide tools/clothes/property to unlawfully influence person.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Bail Division – Court 7 tomorrow (Saturday 20 June 2026).
