Woman charged with high-range PCA after allegedly falling asleep while driving – Chipping Norton

A woman has been charged with high-range PCA in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 12.10am today (Friday 2 October 2026), police were called to Governor Macquarie Drive, Chipping Norton, following reports a driver was asleep at a set of traffic lights.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and found a 48-year-old woman asleep inside an Audi sedan.

The woman was woken up by officers, who attempted to conduct a breath test, which she allegedly refused.

She was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where she was subject to a breath analysis that allegedly returned a result of 0.301.

The 48-year-old woman was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA.

She is due to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 28 October 2026.

Her licence was suspended.
