Woman dies after being struck by truck, NSW

A woman has died after being struck by a truck at Potts Hill overnight.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to Rookwood Road shortly before 7pm (Wednesday 24 May 2022), after multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a person walking on the road.

Before police arrived, a southbound B-double truck struck the pedestrian.

The driver immediately stopped and rendered assistance; however, the woman died at the scene.

She is believed to an 85-year-old woman, who had been reported missing to officers at Cumberland PAC.

The driver, a 70-year-old man, was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Inquiries are continuing.
