A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle in the state’s Snowy Monaro region this evening.
About 6.30pm (Friday 25 September 2026), emergency services were called to Monaro Highway, one kilometre south of Bredbo, after reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.
Officers attached to the Monaro Police District responded, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated the woman, however, she died at the scene.
The woman, who is believed to be in her 60’s, is yet to be formally identified.
The driver, a 54-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash has commenced.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area as localised traffic diversions are in place.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
