Woman dies after serious crash in Bilgola

A woman has died following a serious crash on Sydney’s Northern Beaches earlier this month.

About 10am (Friday 16 July 2021) a Mazda 6, and a Subaru Forester towing a trailer, collided while travelling in opposite directions on Barrenjoey Road at Bilgola.

The driver of the Mazda 6 – a 79-year-old woman – was trapped in her vehicle.

She was eventually released and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with serious injuries and died yesterday (Tuesday 27 July 2021).

The driver of the Subaru – a 68-year-old man – was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam vision, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
