Woman dies after struck by campervan near Taree, NSW

A woman has died after being struck by a campervan on the state’s Mid North Coast yesterday.

About 6.15pm (Friday 16 October 2020), emergency services were called to Coopernook Forest Campground at Lansdowne Forest, about 33km north of Taree, after reports a woman was seriously injured.

Police have been told the 57-year-old woman was setting up her campervan when it began to roll and struck her, knocking her to the ground.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Port Macquarie Hospital, where she died a short time later.

Officers from Manning/Great Lake Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
