Woman dies after three-vehicle crash near Wagga Wagga, NSW

A woman has died after a three-vehicle crash north of Wagga Wagga yesterday.

The crash happened about 5.30pm (Tuesday 5 March 2019), when a Mitsubishi Lancer travelling south east on Coolamon Road, Downside, and a Subaru Impreza travelling north west collided head-on.

A Toyota Hilux, also travelling north west, struck the rear of the Subaru.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi, a 35-year-old woman, was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

The Subaru driver, a 68-year-old woman, and Toyota driver, a 21-year-old man, were taken to Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital.

The woman remains in a stable condition, while the man has since been released.

As inquiries continue, officers from Riverina Police District are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage relating to the crash to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
