Woman dies after two-vehicle crash, NSW

A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state’s Northern Tablelands today.

About 9.45am (Monday 14 November 2022), emergency services were called to the Gwydir Highway at Elsmore – about 22km east of Inverell – following reports a truck and car had crashed.

On arrival, officers from New England Police District found the driver of the car, a woman believed to be aged in her 50s, deceased. She has not been formally identified.

The driver of the truck, a 65-year-old man, was taken to Inverell Hospital to undergo mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established with the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
