Woman in critical condition after being hit by bus, NSW

A woman is in a critical condition after being hit by a bus in Sydney’s inner west yesterday.

About 7.15pm, emergency services were called to a bus stop on New Canterbury Road, Dulwich Hill, after reports a pedestrian was hit by a bus.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command arrived to locate a 69-year-old woman with serious leg injuries.

Police have been told the woman was waiting at the bus stop before falling forward and going underneath an oncoming bus.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established at the scene.

The bus driver – a 59-year-old man – was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory testing, and has since been released.

Inquiries continue.
