A man has been charged with assault following an alleged domestic-related incident at East Ryde overnight.
About 8:30pm yesterday (Thursday 10 December 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Bronhill Avenue where they located an 85-year-old woman unconscious.
The woman was taken by paramedics to Royal North Shore Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
Officers from Ryde Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.
Following inquiries, a 60-year-old man was arrested at the home. The man – who is known to the woman – was taken to Ryde Police Station.
He has since been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 11 December 2020).
