Woman stabbed at Brooklyn Park

Police are investigating an assault at Brooklyn Park last night.

About 8.30pm Sunday 16 July emergency services were called to Marion Road, Brooklyn Park after reports a woman had been stabbed by a person known to her.

When police arrived they located a 44-year-old woman with a stab wound to her back.

She was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Police searched the area and quickly located and arrested the suspect, a 16-year-old girl from Brooklyn Park.

She has been charged with attempt murder. She has been refused police bail and will appear before the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Monday 17 July.

Police advise this is not a random incident with all parties known to each other.
