Shellharbour City Council is inviting the community to a pawsome day out to celebrate all things dog at Woofstock on Sunday 22 June, from 10am to 2pm at The Waterfront Shell Cove.

This free event will be a tail wagging good time for local dog owners and their furry friends, with giveaways, fun activities, and practical support.

Council will have a stall offering free microchipping for Shellharbour City residents, and will also help check that your pet’s microchip and registration details are up to date. These quick checks make it easier to return lost pets home and can help avoid the cost of a stay at the pound.

There will also be some friendly dogs currently available for adoption and looking for their furever homes. Council staff will be on hand to answer questions, share tips and chat about what responsible pet ownership means in our local area.

Woofstock is also a great chance to learn more about the rules that help everyone live well with animals in our neighbourhoods.

Shellharbour Mayor Chris Homer said Council is committed to making it easier for residents to do the right thing when it comes to caring for their pets.

“Between January and March this year, Council rehomed or returned 100% of the dogs that came into our care,” he said.
