Workplace Vaping Ban Reinforces Need To Quit

Smoking is the leading preventable cause of cancer in Western Australia. Quitting smoking or vaping is one of the most important steps a person can take to reduce their cancer risk and improve their overall health.

Recent updates to Western Australia’s Work Health and Safety regulations now prohibit the use of e-cigarettes in enclosed workplaces, aligning them with existing smoking restrictions.

With these new workplace vaping regulations now in effect, this is a timely opportunity for employers and employees alike to act. While policies that limit exposure are essential, supporting people to quit is just as critical.

At Cancer Council WA, our Make Smoking History team has a proud history of providing the resources to help people to quit and advocating for stronger protections from second-hand smoke and e-cigarette aerosol, including in the workplace.

Make Smoking History offer a range of free tools and resources to make it easier for individuals to quit smoking or vaping, and for workplaces to support them on that journey.
