Construction of the Wallan East Integrated Family and Children’s Centre (interim name) has reached an important milestone, with the building frame now taking shape.
The new facility will be an engaging and inclusive community hub, made possible through a $18.150 million investment from the Victorian Government and a $2 million contribution from Mitchell Shire Council.
Located within the Wallara Waters development, the project will establish a family-focused community facility for Wallan East and help meet growing demand for early years and family services across Mitchell Shire.
Key features will include sessional kindergarten programs supported by a range of wrap-around services, maternal and child health services, primary health care, allied health support and a multi-purpose community space designed to support adult learning, community activities and local support groups.
The facility’s location alongside Muyan Primary School will support integrated service delivery for local families and create a lasting community asset for future generations.
Council is aiming for the facility to be operational in 2027.
