WorkSafe Month 2022 to focus on physical and mental health at work

Elise Archer, Minister for Workplace Safety and Consumer Affairs

This year’s WorkSafe Month is once again providing a comprehensive program of free events to encourage Tasmanian workers and employers to focus on improving work health, safety, wellbeing and return to work; and reducing work-related injury, illness and death.

WorkSafe Month has grown from strength to strength over the past 25 years, successfully engaging with both employers and workers, and helping to change behaviours and attitudes towards health and safety in Tasmanian workplaces.

This year’s theme – ‘Safe Bodies, Safe Minds’, acknowledges the importance of good physical and mental health, and highlights things that everyone can do to make their work safer, healthier and more productive.

WorkSafe Month will provide almost 40 free sessions focusing on a diverse range of topics including mental health and wellbeing, preventing workplace injuries, and injury management and return to work.

The full Program of Events is now available on the WorkSafe Tasmania website – www.worksafe.tas.gov.au/worksafemonth

Ensuring every Tasmanian is safe and healthy at work is a key priority for the Tasmanian Liberal Government, and I encourage all Tasmanian employers and workers to register for events this WorkSafe Month.
