Scientists from the National Environmental Science Program are working with World Heritage property managers to understand climate risks and develop science-based adaptation plans for some of the world’s most special places.

At Shark Bay World Heritage Area, scientists and traditional owners are working together to assist the recovery of seagrasses from marine heatwaves.

In the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area new science is guiding planned burns to help protect against bushfires, and on the World Heritage-listed Macquarie Island, new data about the eradication of feral cats, rats, mice and rabbits is helping protect and recover threatened species.
