  • Minister for Jobs, Innovation and Trade

Female business leaders and game changers from Victoria and around the world will join forces in Melbourne this March for inaugural all-women international business summit, GVw 2020.

Hosted by the Victorian Government’s trade agency, Global Victoria, GVw 2020 will showcase Victoria’s world-leading capabilities in sectors such as technology, infrastructure, transport, defence, health and sport, while championing the women who are shaping the future of these industries.

The summit comprises a four-day program of events, culminating in attendance at the final of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup at the MCG, providing Victorian women with the opportunity to connect, share their expertise and exchange ideas with international counterparts.

Highlights of the 5-8 March summit also include the Change Our Game Symposium on increasing female participation in sport and active recreation, headlined by tennis legend Billie Jean King and business icon Indra Nooyi, and a tour of Melbourne’s world-leading sport and entertainment precinct.

Delegates will also see the unique tapestry of Aboriginal culture at the Global Indigenous Runway event featuring designers and creatives from Victoria and around the world telling their stories though fashion.

Key infrastructure projects such as Metro Tunnel and the Monash Technology Precinct will also be featured, showcasing Victoria’s focus on enhancing liveability and supporting innovation.

According to the Dell 2019 Women Entrepreneurs Cities Index, Melbourne is among the world’s best places for women entrepreneurs, and GVw 2020 will provide a platform to demonstrate that achievement to international delegates.

As the most active state government in supporting women in international business, GVw 2020 will provide opportunities for Victorian women to make new connections and develop important global partnerships.
