Wounding investigation in Wilsonton, QLD

Detectives investigating the alleged assault of a 17-year-old boy in Wilsonton yesterday afternoon are appealing for witnesses.

At approximately 4:30pm an altercation occurred between a 17-year-old boy and another teenage boy at Captain Cook Oval, on McGregor Street.

During the altercation the 17-year-old boy sustained a puncture wound to his abdomen, from an unknown implement.

He was transported to Toowoomba Hospital, where he underwent surgery overnight and is in a stable condition.

The boys are known to each other.

Investigators would like to speak to a teenage boy who was in the area at the time, who is described as wearing a blue t-shirt with white stripes.
