Wyreena reopens doors: book now for Term 3 creative classes and courses

Wyreena Community Arts Centre

is delighted to be reopening for its Term 3 classes and courses

If isolation has inspired you to take up a new interest or pursue your creative calling, now’s the time to browse Wyreena’s Term 3 program! This term is full of creative and lifestyle courses from July through to September.

In order to achieve safe physical distancing, all classes will adhere to the required social distancing and hygiene recommendations with a reduced number of students in each class.

Each term, Wyreena Community Arts Centre offers a range of short and regular courses in the creative arts that are tailored for absolute beginners through to the more advanced.

The Term 3 program includes one-day workshops, as well as courses catering for adults and children.

There are courses in drawing, painting, pottery, mosaics, yoga and more, as well as one-day makers workshops, term programs for adults with special needs, and an age-streamed children’s arts program conveniently held after school hours during school terms.

New to this term’s program is a six-week Gentle Yoga class, which is perfect for anyone wanting to get back into exercise at a slower pace due to age, injury, or if recovering from illness.

Learn how to make your own castile soap using ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients, or discover the ancient Japanese art of Shibori, considered to be one of the oldest indigo dye techniques in Japan, as part of Wyreena’s one-day makers workshops.

Children aged 5 to 7 can explore the Creative Art Studio using mixed media, or develop skills and confidence in drawing in a Learn to Draw nine-week course. There are also painting and pottery classes for children 8 years and over, and intermediate art and pottery classes designed for teens aged 11 years and over.
