Yarnbomb extravaganza casting off at Black Rock Clock Tower

We’ve hooked up with community group The GLAD Rappers to yarnbomb the iconic Black Rock Clock Tower from 27 June. But we’re knot done there, six other locations across the municipality will also be covered with decorative knitted or crocheted material, bringing warmth and cheer in the depths of Winter.

The final installation will be in place for six weeks for the community to enjoy as a form of temporary public art.

Unwind and enjoy woolly installations at the following locations

  • Corner of Martin and Spink Gardenvale
  • Bay Street. Nth Brighton railway station
  • Church Street. Middle Brighton railway station
  • Hampton Street opposite Service Street next to the railway line and Glass House eatery
  • Sandringham corner, Bay Road roundabout towards the station, next to Nick Johnstone
  • Beaumaris Concourse south. Next to Sing Tao
  • Clock Tower Black Rock roundabout, intersecting Beach, Bluff and Balcombe Roads.

At the conclusion of the installation, the disassembled knitted squares will be donated to the Knit One Give One (KOGO) organisation, creating blankets for shelters, aged care homes and those affected by disaster.
