You can have your say on future of NSW

NSW Department of Customer Service

NSW residents across the State are helping shape the future of NSW through an innovative digital “Have Your Say” platform where people can provide feedback and ideas on a range of NSW Government services and initiatives.

Deputy Secretary of Customer, Delivery and Transformation William Murphy said the Department of Customer Service and its government partners have just completed their 100th Have Your Say community consultation since it launched in 2020.

“The Community has given us feedback they want to be more involved in government decision making such as changing legislation, programs and services,” Mr Murphy said.

“The results show we are making great progress connecting with community on issues that matter to them engaging customers in the decisions of tomorrow.

“The Have Your Say platform gives people a voice and is making a real difference to communities with more than 5,400 people providing feedback and contributing ideas to the $5 billion WestInvest grant program to improve liveability in western and south-western Sydney.

“We also received feedback in more than 25,000 surveys in a review of Strata laws last year, resulting in new legislation designed to make it easier to keep pets in strata apartments and balance the interests of all strata scheme residents.

“From the upcoming Digital Birth Certificate to new transport planning, alcohol delivery services and engaging parents and carers in their child’s education, Have Your Say is helping people have their say on making our state a better place to live.”

The Have Your Say platform is a highly secure digital platform that can be easily shared via email and other communications to target groups and communities, helping drive engagement and complementing face-to-face community consultation.

Since September 2020 and as part of the 100 consultations, Have Your Say has been visited more than 333,000 times with more than 22,000 ideas submitted by the community.

“The Have Your Say platform makes it quick and easy for anyone to provide feedback, input to discussions and share ideas on a wide range of NSW Government programs from the convenience of their mobile or tablet,” Mr Murphy said.

“More consultations are being added every week, so I encourage everyone in NSW to visit the website to see what’s happening across our state and Have Your Say on the future of NSW.”
