Penrith City Council is inviting young people and the wider community to review the Draft Penrith Youth Strategy and Action Plan 2027-2031 and provide feedback during the public exhibition from 5 October to 1 November 2026.
Shaped by feedback from more than 300 young people, the draft strategy focuses on four priority areas: health, wellbeing and safety; affordable living and opportunities; connection, inclusion and belonging; and environment, accessibility and movement.
The plan sets out actions for Council and its community partners to support, engage and empower young people across these four priority areas over the next five years.
Penrith Mayor Todd Carney said the public exhibition is an opportunity to make sure the strategy reflects the needs and aspirations of young people.
“Young people told us what matters most to them, and that feedback has shaped this draft strategy,” Cr Todd Carney said.
“This is their opportunity to tell us whether we’ve got it right and whether there’s anything missing before the strategy is finalised.”
The community can view the document online or at the Penrith Civic Centre, St Marys Business Office or any Penrith City Library. Feedback can be shared in several ways:
