Youth awards announced – Mosman

Winners of the 2020 Mosman Youth Awards in Literature were announced at a special ceremony livestreamed via Instagram on Wednesday 26 August. In line with other recent changes to regular scheduling, this year’s online event replaced the presentation evening traditionally held at Mosman’s Barry O’Keefe Library.

The awards recognise writing by students from Kindergarten to Year 12, in the categories of prose for Primary (K-6), Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior Secondary (Years 10-12), and poetry for Junior Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior Secondary (Years 10-12).

“The competition, which is in its 28th year, attracted 114 entries submitted online from students at local schools and other schools across Sydney,” said Manager Library Services, Linda Horswell.

“The judges commented on the very high standard of this year’s entries and the variety of topics written and congratulated all the short-listed writers saying that the high standard of writing made it very hard to choose the winners.”
