Youth take to stage in free satirical show

Barry Road Community and Activity Centre will come to life when FRESH Youth Theatre performs their satirical show, Global Warning from 29 – 30 November.

In this alternative future, where the human race has evolved to a plastic-human hybrid after the apocalyptic Shark-nado that ended known civilisation, stories and warnings are told to us by a myriad of characters.

This is the second year Council has partnered with FRESH Youth Theatre, a not for profit theatre company primarily focused on achieving social change using applied theatre techniques.

Local young people, 12-18 years old, have been rehearsing since July, exploring themes of pollution and global warming.

“I love being able to express myself and having the freedom to become anything I want to be,” Carina said.

“I like being involved in the theatre, the atmosphere, and the people. I like to perform and be a part of a group unlike any other,” Bastian said.

Everyone is welcome to these free performances. This show is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Tickets are free but bookings are recommended: www.freshtheatre.org/box-office
