Youths arrested after stealing car at Walkerville, South Australia

Police have arrested two youths and looking for another two, after they allegedly stole a car from a house at Walkerville overnight.

Just before 1.30am, Sunday 7 August, patrols were called to Monaro Court, after the victim’s house was broken into and her Mercedes sedan was stolen.

The car had tracking capabilities and PolAir was able to track it to Philip Street at Vale Park, where it was dumped a short time later. The four occupants ran from the car with patrols quickly arresting two youths. A search failed to locate the other two occupants.

A 15-year-old boy from Christie Downs and a 16-year-old boy from Hackham West, have been charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and illegal use. The pair have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court tomorrow.

Police also recovered a stolen Mazda which was found in Monaro Court. The SUV had been stolen from an address in Gilles Plains following a break-in overnight on Friday 5 August.
