0.262 reading brings high range drive charge, NSW

A man will face court next month after being detected while driving at Lucas Heights with an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.262.

About 2.15ppm on Friday 5 July, police from Sutherland Highway Patrol stopped a Red Honda Jazz that was detected travelling at 95km/h on Heathcote Road. That section of Heathcote Road has a signposted speed limit of 70km/h.

The car was stopped and police spoke to the 39-year-old Voyagers Point man who was driving.

A roadside breath test returned a positive result and a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.262.

His driver’s licence was suspended and he was issued an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h.

The Voyagers Point man was charged with driving with a high-range PCA and will appear in Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 15 August 2019.
