Battle of the Bridges returns this November! Georges River Council, Sutherland Shire Council and City of Canterbury Bankstown in partnership with 3Bridges have teamed up to spotlight young musicians in their local government areas.
Nine emerging acts from across Sydney’s south will compete for the title of the region’s top young music act.
Now in its third iteration, Battle of the Bridges gives young artists the chance to perform live, gain experience and share their talent with the community.
This year’s line-up features three performers from each council’s Youth Week event. These include:
The 212s (Canterbury-Bankstown).
Augmented Five (Canterbury-Bankstown).
The Avenue (Georges River).
Kenya (Georges River).
Mach Stem (Sutherland Shire).
MARZ (Sutherland Shire).
Verräter (Georges River).
Volition (Sutherland Shire).
Yasi.T (Canterbury-Bankstown).
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “Battle of the Bridges is all about celebrating young talent. We are proud to host this event in Georges River and give emerging musicians the opportunity to perform and connect with the community”.
Sutherland Shire Council Mayor Carmelo Pesce said, “This event gives young musicians the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences, build confidence and connect with their peers from across southern Sydney. We’re proud to see Mach Stem, MARZ and Volition representing the Sutherland Shire and wish them every success as they showcase their talent on the regional stage.”
City of Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said events like this help strengthen connections across our region, while celebrating the creativity and passion of our young people.
“Battle of the Bridges is a fantastic opportunity for young musicians to showcase their talent, build confidence and perform in front of a live audience,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
“Canterbury-Bankstown is home to many creative young people and we’re proud to see local acts representing our City on a regional stage. I encourage all music-lovers to come along and support these talented local performers.”
