- Charge Up Workplace Electric Vehicle (EV) grant program round two launched
- Grants to make EV chargers more affordable for businesses, notfor-profits and LGAs
- Part of WA Government’s $60 million package to increase EV uptake
Energy Minister Bill Johnston today launched round two of the Cook Government’s Charge Up Workplace Grants program at the EV Expo at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Round two includes $12.5 million to expand EV charging infrastructure throughout the State.
The grants target not for-profits, small and medium businesses, and local government authorities, with funding up to 50 per cent of the cost to purchase and install an EV charger.
The funding includes AC chargers and faster DC chargers ranging from 7kW to 350kW.
Around $2.4 million in grants has already been approved to install 403 chargers in 221 locations from Karratha to Albany, and around the Perth metropolitan area.
The Charge Up Workplace Grants are designed to maximise daytime EV charging, promote off-peak charging, support the conversion to EV fleets, and over time, stimulate a second-hand EV market.

“I’m thrilled to announce the second round of funding for the Charge Up Workplace Grants program.
“This second round introduces faster DC chargers, offering additional benefits to eligible businesses and organisations.
“The program encourages daytime charging, enabling EV owners to utilise abundant solar energy during sunny hours, which also assists in stabilising our electricity grid.
“In the first round, we assisted small and medium businesses, not-for-profits, and local government authorities in installing EV chargers for their customers, clients, and staff.
“Thanks to these grants, chargers are now operational in regional communities that support local tourism, small businesses and community service organisations.”
