The redevelopment, delivered as part of the Cook Labor Government’s PlayOn WA initiative, includes a full refurbishment of changerooms, with new showers and toilets, as well as the addition of a parent’s room to better support families attending games and training.

Kiosk facilities have also been upgraded to improve food preparation and service during events, with new stainless-steel benches, storage, sinks, fans, a fridge and stove installed.

The Warmun Oval redevelopment forms part of a broader $2.35 million investment in local sporting infrastructure, with further upgrades planned for the community’s basketball courts and recreation centre.

The project will support increased participation in sport and recreation while strengthening community connection in Warmun for years to come.

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:

“This is a great outcome for the Warmun community and means local players can take the field this season with modern, high-quality facilities.

“We’re delivering real upgrades in regional WA so communities have the infrastructure they need to stay active and host local competitions.”

As stated by Kimberley MLA Divina D’Anna

“It’s fantastic to see Warmun Oval ready for the upcoming football season with upgraded facilities that will make a real difference for the local players, volunteers and families.

“The addition of better changerooms, upgraded kiosk facilities and improvements to the oval itself will help make game days and other community events more enjoyable for everyone.

“This project is part of a broader investment that will also deliver improvements to the basketball courts and recreation centre, creating more opportunities for young people and families in Warmun.”
