2020 Victorian Women in Resources Award Winners

MCA Victoria and AusIMM Women in Mining and Resources Network Victoria are delighted to announce winners for the state’s Women in Resources Awards.

The Victorian Women in Resources Awards recognise individual achievement and company efforts to increase gender diversity across mining operations, within corporate offices and across the mining equipment, technology and services sector.

James Sorahan, Executive Director MCA Victoria, said the awards showcase the incredible talent and women delivering outstanding outcomes for their communities.

“The awards celebrate the diverse range of fields in mining including engineering and apprenticeships. The winners and all nominees serve as ambassadors for women to consider a career in Victoria’s growing and increasingly diverse mining sector,” he said.

Vivian Simonelli, Chair WIMnet Victoria, said the awards would help encourage more women to consider a career in mining.

“These awards enable us to showcase women’s capabilities and are a great way in which we can demonstrate what is possible to young women,” she said.

Victorian winners will progress to the national awards to be held later in the year.

MCA Victoria and AusIMM Women in Mining and Resources Network Victoria thank the judges of the 2020 awards Dr Amanda Caples, Victoria’s Lead Scientist, Vivian Simonelli, WIMnet Victoria and Ellen Butler, MCA.
