Applications for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) Program 2018–2019 bi-annual one-off grants opened today.
Eligible aged care providers who are currently funded under the NATSIFAC Program are able to apply for a share of $4 million in funding to purchase equipment, undertake building maintenance and upgrade aged care staff accommodation.
The Liberal National Government is committed to ensuring every aged care facility has the equipment and suitable infrastructure to provide safe, quality aged care.
This funding will particularly help service providers in locations where there are higher costs and reduced capacity to generate revenue to make improvements across their facilities.
This will have a direct impact on the lives of older First Nations people in remote and very remote locations where services have limited revenue to upgrade living areas or replace clinical equipment.
This funding is in addition to the annual $38 million the Liberal National Government provides for service delivery under the NATSIFAC Program and the $105.7 million being made available over four years to expand the Program.
The NATSIFAC Program funds service providers to provide flexible, culturally appropriate aged care to older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people close to home and their community.
Thirty five services who are currently funded by the program in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria are eligible to apply for the funding.
Applications close 11 April 2019.
