$4 million investment in health projects for culturally diverse Australians

The Morrison Government is investing almost $4 million into a range of projects to improve health outcomes for some of the most culturally diverse Australians.

The funding, to be provided through the National Women’s Health Strategy, National Men’s Strategy and the Child and Youth Health grants, will particularly assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those in the community identified as most at risk of poor health outcomes.

Thirty-nine projects across Australia will be funded, with project scopes ranging from mental health support, to improving nutrition, to increasing health literacy in culturally diverse communities.

Other projects include:

  • Innovative public awareness and health promotion initiatives
  • Initiatives to improve health and wellbeing within priority population groups
  • Programs to support parents and carers of young children
  • Training for health professionals and educators to enhance their capacity to support children and young people.

The National Women’s Health Strategy, National Men’s Strategy and the Child and Youth Health grants all form a part of our coordinated national approach to improving health outcomes, particularly those at greatest risk of poor health.

The Morrison Government is committed to investing in projects which deliver the best, most up-to-date health care, to ensure that all Australians, no matter where they live or what their circumstance, can access health and wellbeing programs in their own communities.
