Knox pet owners registering their pet for the first time will receive 75% off the registration fee between 1 and 15 December 2025.
Under the Domestic Animals Act 1994, all pets over 3 months old must be microchipped and registered with Council. Registration renewals are due by 10 April each year.
One of the benefits of pet registration is that it helps Council reunite lost pets with their owners and supports important community services like:
- 24/7 animal collection
- Investigating cruelty and dog attacks
- Dog parks
- Our annual Pets in the Park event
Keeping your contact details up-to-date also helps Council get your pet home faster if they wander off or become lost.
This offer does not apply to dangerous and menacing dogs or animals registered under the foster care registration scheme.
