NSW latest designs unveiled for $630 million Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment

The latest designs for the $630 million Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment have been unveiled, showcasing the vision for the hospital campus including a new clinical services building.

The Minns Labor Government has committed $550 million to deliver the redevelopment, with a further $80 million contribution from the Commonwealth Government to expand the hospital’s Emergency Department.

After more than a decade of underfunding and neglect from the Coalition, the Minns Government is delivering the critical health infrastructure growing communities in Western and Southwest Sydney need.

New artist impressions showcase plans for the proposed five-storey clinical services building, which will seamlessly connect with the existing hospital through a welcoming new main entry and convenient drop-off area.

The redevelopment also includes a new 460-space multi-storey car park, including pedestrian connections to the existing hospital as well as the adjacent Braeside Hospital.

The new clinical services building is expected to include:

  • A new and expanded Emergency Department,
  • Intensive Care Unit,
  • Medical Imaging,
  • Operating theatres,
  • Inpatient units.

Some existing departments will also be relocated or refurbished as part of the project.

Early works are currently underway to prepare the campus for redevelopment including the expansion of existing car parking areas. The early works will be completed in coming months, which will be followed by construction of the multi-storey car park, pending planning approval.

Extensive feedback received from hospital staff and the community has informed the designs of the clinical services building. Consultation with staff continues to shape the development of the detailed plans required for main works construction, in preparation for public exhibition of the main works planning application later this year.
