AgForce welcomes important changes to the State Development and Public Works Organisation (Critical Minerals) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2026 – including the exclusion of renewable energy projects, battery storage facilities and data centres from the State Strategic Project pathway.
However, the job is not done.
AgForce continues to work with Government to protect Queensland’s finite agricultural land, ensure landholders are treated fairly, and ensure compulsory acquisition is used only as a genuine last resort where it is justified in the public interest.
