Accomplished journalist set to inspire at In Conversation celebrating International Women’s Day

Venue 114 will launch it’s 2020 In Conversations calendar with accomplished journalist and tv presenter, Melissa Doyle AM confirmed as the guest speaker.

Melissa will speak about her career highlights and the juggling act women play, to coincide with the celebration of International Women’s Day.

Tickets are now available for the lunch event which is taking place at Venue 114, Bokarina on Friday March 6, 2020.

A journalist, author, television presenter, radio host and working mum, Melissa is an award-winning journalist with almost 30 years professional experience.

Melissa began her career as a television news reporter and weather presenter at WIN TV Canberra in 1990.

Melissa became part of the Sunrise team in 1997 and co-hosted the breakfast program until August 2013, in that time growing the program and taking it to number one nationally.

In 2013 she joined the Seven news team as both presenter and senior correspondent before becoming host of the network’s flagship national public affairs program, Sunday Night.

Throughout her career Melissa has covered some of the most significant news events of recent times including the Beaconsfield mine disaster, the Royal weddings, the Olympic Games in Sydney, Athens and Beijing, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Queensland floods, Black Saturday bushfires and multiple federal and state elections.

She also passionately supports many charities. She is National Patron for the Make A Wish Foundation and an Ambassador for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, World Vision, Children’s Cancer Institute, Adopt Change, Legacy and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She is on the board of the George Gregan Foundation.

Melissa is Number One Ticket Holder for the GWS Giants (AFL) and serves on their board.

A multiple Silver Logie nominee as Most Popular Television Presenter, Melissa was voted one of the “most real celebrity mums” and regularly polls in the Top 50 of Reader’s Digests annual list of Most Trusted Australians.

Off screen, Melissa is a wife and proud Mum of two teenagers, Nick and Talia.

Guests will also be entertained by Bob Downe, one of Australia’s most loved and enduring comedy characters who will perform some of his favourite songs.
