ACT Election 2020: ACTCOSS releases election-eve checklist

The ACT Council of Social Service (ACTCOSS) today issued a checklist of actions for the incoming ACT Government, aimed at achieving a fair and just Canberra.

ACTCOSS CEO Dr Emma Campbell said: “This list of actions required by the incoming government is a ready-reference document not just for voters but for candidates seeking to be elected tomorrow.

“We want to remind voters and incoming Assembly members of priorities the community sector has set during a long campaign.”

The checklist publication available here brings together key election asks from 12 briefs issued by ACTCOSS members, peaks and other community sector organisations in recent months.

Throughout the campaign, ACTCOSS has briefed, informed and challenged candidates on their positions and provided opportunities for the whole Canberra community to hear about where parties and candidates stand on key issues.

“As new Members take their seats in the Assembly, ACTCOSS and community services organisations will be working hard to remind them of our priorities and the need for their words to match their actions,” Dr Campbell said.

ACTCOSS advocates for social justice in the ACT and represents not-for-profit community organisations.
