Additional charges after FPO search, NSW

Further charges have been laid today as part of an ongoing operation to prevent and disrupt criminal networks in South West Sydney.

Strike Force Hawk was initiated by the South West Metropolitan (SWM) Region earlier this month in response to public acts of violence.

The operation is being run in conjunction with the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad, which has been proactively targeting more than 300 identified members and associates of criminal networks.

As part of inquiries, about 9.25am (Saturday 30 October 2021), officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command executed a Firearms Prohibition Order search at a home on Linthorne street, Guilford.

Upon searching the premise, police seized an electronic conducted weapon.

A 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police station where he was charged with possess or use prohibited weapon without a permit and use a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order.

The Guildford man was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 31 October 2021).

Investigations under Strike Force Hawk continue.
