The Cook Government is delivering on its commitment to bolster ambulance response capabilities in the country – with more paid paramedics than ever before now based in Margaret River.
From 12 November 2023, four paid paramedics will operate a new hybrid paramedic model and will provide even more support to the community.
The additional paramedics have been funded as part of the Cook Government’s modernised contract with St John WA, and is part of the ongoing commitment to improve ambulance service delivery across the State.
Margaret River joins Harvey and Geraldton, which were bolstered with extra paramedics earlier this year.
As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
“Margaret River now joins Geraldton, Narrogin, Newman and Harvey with boosted ambulance response capabilities.
“We’re excited to be delivering on more ambulance support than ever before in these vital regional communities.
“We’ll continue to collaborate with St John WA and the WA Country Health Service to deliver on the State’s commitment of an additional 31 FTE paid paramedics in the regions.”
