The AFP is releasing new images linked to a Melbourne man wanted for his alleged involvement in criminal activity causing harm to Australians as part of an international drug syndicate and is appealing for public assistance for information about the man’s life in Mexico, where he has created a new identity.
Anthony Sitar, 43, left Australia in 2011 and has recently been living in Mexico. The AFP has a warrant for his arrest and he is facing serious criminal charges relating to his involvement in a 2011 drug importation. Interpol created a Red Notice for him in 2012.
The AFP is releasing a photo Anthony Sitar sent as a private message that details aspects of his life in a coastal city in Mexico popular with tourists and expats.

The AFP is also releasing an aged-progressed image of Anthony Sitar, revealing how he might look today. He is believed be living under an assumed name in Mexico.
The AFP suspects he has brokered major cocaine and methamphetamine drug deals on behalf of Australian organised crime groups while living in Mexico.
The outstanding arrest warrant for Anthony Sitar is for his alleged role in importing 134kg of methamphetamine and 14kg of cocaine into Melbourne from Mexico in 2011. The drugs were concealed in beer bottles.
Sitar is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 185-190cm tall, athletic build, brown eyes, with shaved brown hair. He was last sighted in St Kilda, Melbourne in October 2011.
