AFPA pays tribute to Ian Tyson ahead of retirement as Timberlink CEO

The Australian Forest Products Association (AFPA) congratulates outgoing Timberlink Australia & New Zealand CEO Ian Tyson on a successful career after more than a decade leading the business. We also thank Ian for his dedication and commitment to the broader forest products sector through service on the AFPA Board and as Chair of the Softwood Manufacturing Chamber (SMC), Acting Chief Executive Officer of AFPA, Natasa Sikman said today.

“On behalf of AFPA and our broader membership I congratulate and thank Ian for his outstanding contribution and service to Timberlink and AFPA. Timberlink Australia & New Zealand has been exceptionally led under Ian, navigating the business through challenging times, but ultimately taking one of Australia’s largest softwood manufacturers from strength to strength,” Natasa Sikman said.

“Ian joined the AFPA Board in 2015 providing an invaluable contribution to the leadership body over his more than four years while he also served as Chair of AFPA’s SMC during this period. We thank Ian for his contribution to AFPA.”

Ian commenced as CEO of Timberlink when it was first formed in 2013 and will retire at the end of this calendar year. The evolution of NeXTimber® has been highlighted as one of the best achievements of Ian’s tenure, allowing Timberlink to grow from a timber processing focused business to a broader manufacturing and construction business.

“We wish Ian all the very best in his retirement and congratulate him again on a magnificent career,” Natasa Sikman concluded.
