Albanese Government Investing in crucial estate works in Enoggera

Department of Defence

The Albanese Government is investing in critical infrastructure upgrades to support accommodation and facilities at Brisbane’s Gallipoli Barracks in Enoggera.

Over $11.2 million in upgrades will be invested into Gallipoli Barracks which is one of Australia’s largest military bases and the headquarters of the 7th Brigade.

Ensuring the Australian Defence Force has modern, fit-for-purpose facilities and infrastructure in place to support its critical capabilities is essential to keeping Australians safe.

The upgrades to Gallipoli Barracks include live-in accommodation refurbishments, Army directed maintenance works and construction of a new Joint Operations Room facility.

Works have already begun and will create significant opportunities for local trades, construction, and other businesses, including promoting the participation of Indigenous companies.

Quotes attributable to Assistant Minister for Defence, the Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP:

“The Albanese Government recognises that our Defence sites must be equipped to meet operational and capability requirements, now and in the future.

“These projects, to be delivered by local businesses, will create opportunities in the trades and construction industries and deliver increased job opportunities in Brisbane.”
