Werribee police arrested and charged a prolific alleged alcohol thief in Point Cook yesterday.
Following an extensive investigation, and as part of Operation Kodak, officers executed a search warrant at a property in Point Cook.
Police arrested a 20-year-old Point Cook man at the property, along with seizing numerous items allegedly connected with a series of alcohol thefts committed at retail liquor stores throughout the Point Cook area over a four-month period.
The man was charged with a total of 30 theft-related offences.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
The search warrant forms part of Operation Kodak, conducted by uniform police in Werribee during the month of August.
The operation targeted repeat offenders committing alcohol thefts at retail liquor stores throughout the Wyndham area.
Operation Kodak resulted in:
• 36 offenders arrested
• 140 alcohol theft-related charges
• 13 of the offenders are under the age of 18
• 22 of the offenders were charged with multiple alcohol-related theft offences
• six of the offenders were charged with 10 or more incidents of alcohol theft
The operation also included a focus on crime prevention strategies with retail liquor stores throughout the Wyndham PSA.
