Alice Springs pop up Covid Vaccination Clinic opening

NT Government

On Monday 22 August 2022, the Alice Springs COVID Vaccination Clinic will open to help boost access to COVID-19 vaccination in Central Australia, over a one week blitz.

The Alice Springs COVID Vaccination Clinic is located at the previous COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at 44 Bath Street, and will operate daily from 8:30am to 4.00pm until Friday 26 August.

The clinic will be open to the public on a walk-in basis and everyone aged five years and over is welcome. Bookings are not required.

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best defence against COVID-19 and everyone needs to stay up-to-date with their vaccinations.

Vaccination significantly reduces the risk of getting really sick from COVID-19 and will help protect against future strains of the virus.

Everyone aged 30 years and over can now get a fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, three months after their last vaccination.

People aged 16 to 29 years need three doses to be up to date their vaccinations. Children aged 5 to 12 years need two doses.

Some people with complex health needs will need additional doses for the best protection and should speak to their GP.

People who have tested positive for COVID-19 can get their next vaccination three months after their infection.

Territorians are urged to remain vigilant as COVID-19 cases continue to spread across the NT. A third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine provides 88 per cent protection against hospitalisation and severe illness from COVID-19.

Territorians can also get their COVID-19 vaccine from across the NT at participating GP clinics, pharmacies, respiratory clinics, urban and remote health clinics and Aboriginal health clinics.
