Alice Springs Town Camps set for housing overhaul

Town camps in Alice Springs are set to be overhauled with nearly $34 million worth of housing works announced.

This includes the construction of 54 homes and the demolition of 22 houses that are beyond economic repair.

Contracts awarded to Territory businesses – Blueprint (NT), Bullant Building, Asbuild NT, and LA Build – is for works across camps including:

Charles Creek;Hoppys;Hidden Valley;Ilpeye Ilpeye;Warlpiri;Karnte;Larapinta Valley;Little Sisters;Morris Soak; andTrucking Yards

A tender for works at Mt Nancy camp is expected to be awarded in the coming weeks.

The works are part of the Territory Labor Government’s $2.1 billion remote housing program which has already delivered an unprecedented number of new builds, upgrades, and extensions across the NT.
