All aboard the ARTC Great Train Race at Hunter Valley Steamfest

• The Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest returns to Maitland for its 35^th anniversary
• The much-loved community event is back for 2023 after cancellations due to flooding and Covid-19
• ARTC is a key partner in the event, facilitating the ARTC Great Train Race quad run

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) have once again partnered up with Maitland City Council to celebrate Maitland’s steam and industrial heritage at the Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest.

After cancellations since 2020 due to Covid-19 and flooding, Steamfest is back and better than ever for its 35^th anniversary, with the festivities to be held over the weekend of Saturday 29^th and Sunday 30^th April at the Maitland Station Precinct and surrounds.

A must-see event of the weekend will be the ARTC Great Train Race quad run which will feature four historic steam locomotives running parallel together whilst racing a classic Tiger Moth airplane.

Attendees can also explore an impressive collection of antique machinery and steam trains from across Australia, plus live music, kids’ activities, market stalls and more.
